Monster Hunter 6 Predictions
I'm convinced that the next big Monster Hunter game is just around the corner - and will even be announced next month. Before anything officially is revealed I wanted to share my predictions for what Monster Hunter 6 will be like - including release date, a new weapon type, and the return of underwater combat. I'll probably get most of this stuff wrong, but I thought it'd be fun to put it all out there!

The Magic Of Amatsu The Storm Dragon

Amatsu's return to Sunbreak gives me the perfect excuse to babble about how great its design is. It's time to examine, analyze, and overthink Monster Hunter's storm god.
What Makes Ceadeus So Compelling?

Ceadeus is the final boss of Monster Hunter Tri, and I think he's pretty great. This video breaks down his design and inspiration to try and understand why he remains so compelling, all these years later. The Themes Of MH World & Iceborne's Story
Переглядів 200 тис.Рік тому
Monster Hunter World and Iceborne aren't praised for their compelling narratives, but that's not to say there's nothing of value to be found there. The final bosses of base World and its Iceborne expansion, Xeno'jiiva and Shara Ishvalda, develop and explore a shared theme - and a pretty interesting one at that.
You Should Try Underwater Combat (In Monster Hunter)
Переглядів 26 тис.2 роки тому
Underwater combat is probably monster hunter's most divisive mechanic. Some love it and others hate it - but after revisiting the third generation recently, I really think you should go back and give it a Tri. Furi Is Pretty Simple But That's Exactly Why You Should Play It
Переглядів 15 тис.2 роки тому
I tend to play action games with a lot of mechanical depth, because they usually let you get super creative. But I ended up enjoying Furi by forgoing all that and embracing simplicity - this video is me atoning for being a big dumb dumb and overlooking it for so many years.
There Will Never Be Another Final Boss Like Ahtal-Ka
Переглядів 1,8 млн2 роки тому
The last boss of Monster Hunter Generations: Ultimate is Ahtal-Ka, and when you see it for the first time, you're most likely going to feel underwhelmed. In a series that's got a roster of god-level dragons, a bug seems like an odd choice for the final boss slot. But there's a lot more to Ahtal-Ka than meets the eye - and I don't think we'll ever see another boss like it again. Video credit: ua...

Why Arcane's Action Scenes Feel So Fantastic
Переглядів 4,1 тис.2 роки тому
Arcane has some truly great action scenes. There's some obvious answers to why they feel so good - they're absolutely gorgeous to look at and provide non-stop excitement from start to finish. But there's another element that really makes them stand out. It's one that you probably felt, but might not have noticed. In this video, we'll take a look at what that secret ingredient is and why it work...
Inscryption: The Most Surprising Game Of The Year
Переглядів 4,9 тис.2 роки тому
This year has been an interesting one for games. There have been a lot of surprises, but most of them haven’t been the type you actually like to see. But there have been some great surprises, like Inscryption. It’s a card game/escape room puzzle that released in October 2021, and I think it just might be my game of the year. One of the biggest reasons for this is its masterful use of surprise. ...
The "Best" Story In A Monster Hunter Game
Переглядів 211 тис.2 роки тому
Monster Hunter games aren't known for their amazing narratives. You boot up a monster hunter game because they're fun to play, never to hear an interesting plot. But there have been some interesting stories in the past-and what's more, they've been told in some really fascinating ways. A great example is Monster Hunter 4, which told the story of a rivalry with the potential to change the fate o...
Subnautica And The Terror Of Absolute Freedom
Переглядів 563 тис.2 роки тому
Subnautica doesn't bill itself as a scary game - but if you've played it, you know that it can be just that. And one of the ways it creates terror is by giving you something that's not always present in other games - the absolute freedom to play it however you want to. In this video, we'll talk about why that works to create a truly fantastic experience. Link to research paper on 'the call of t...
What Makes Legends Of Runeterra A Special Card Game?

In the process, it's made me realize some things about the nature of card games and how I pl...

A more intresting thing about safi/xeno'jiva is that they have connection to the sapphire star but the connection is that it's the complete opposite of the sapphire star, witch means that the sapphire star was more like nergigante, a dragon that's a protecter of it's planet that could slay every thing that could harm it's planet, the exact opposite of safi/xeno'jiva, they're only mission is to harm the planet as much as it can to make it it's terrotory

Few consider that the fear of finding yourself swimming in large bodies of water is all about being defenceless. There are no features to hide behind, like rocks or caves. There is no end to swim towards. There is nothing to grab and use as a tool or a weapon. Anything can hunt you, outrun you and tear you to pieces. Now, add sensory limitation, like blurry vision and a low distance horizon and you got your heart beating out of your chest.

Lagiacrus is my favourite monster in Monster Hunter. It's not necessarily my favourite monster to hunt, though it's very fun. I'm just in love with it's design, and the art surrounding it is absolutely beautiful. Lagiacrus is the reason why I want underwater combat to return to the game.

I think the final weapon being specifically a wheel is important too. The wheel is often regarded as the one of the most important inventions in human history. It served as the foundation for many incredibly important inventions to come. I think the choice of a wheel was a sort of teaser saying that everything they had created was just a stepping stone, and that monster hunter, as a series, was only going to improve significantly from this point.

Two other reasons why Fatalis is so iconic is its body and attacks, because is the most medieval looking dragon out there. Many dragons in today's media are very influenced by the discovery of dinosaurs, adding many features on them to make them look realistic. Meanwhile Fatalis has the classic, serpentic body with a very long tail like it was straight out from an europen bestiary. Even when it fights its moves looks simple but there have a lot of weight on them, a move of its tail hurts you, a flamethrower directed to you is anything unlike the fireballs you recived from so many wyverns before. Is also has a sense of wonder, even fans still debate if is part of the rest of Monster Hunter ecology, or is actually an anomaly, a being that doesn't belong there in the first place. Lorewise its own existence is kept as a secret punished by death penalty, just so to avoid people to learn the existence of this creature that can be viewed as a abomination.

What is more, looking back at Ahtal-Ka after playing through Rise, one sees that the ways that she moves are very similar to the ways that the player can move using wirebugs; almost as if by defeating her we took her power into the next generation of MH games.

3 on the Wii U was my first MH game. But I was super confused by a lot of it, where to find shops, where to go in missions, even what missions to choose. I gave MH another chance and decided to buy 4 and that’s when I got hooked. And fighting off golden gore was so bad ass after experiencing the entire game.

The game is pretty much a musical. Though i don't know who or what would be singing Rules of Nature, every other song is pretty much sang by their respective bosses and characters, and It Has To Be This Way is pretty much a duet sang by both Raiden and Armstrong. 😉 Some Sonic games feel like musicals too, because many of the songs are pretty much sang by their respective characters

For me, my rival was iceborne's zinogre. I had enjoyed my play through alot up to that point but something hadn't clicked yet. If i came up to a wall, i would just fire an SOS flare and let others help. When i got to zinogre, i decided for some reason that I would beat him solo. It wasn't even a wall I could have just skipped him. After like 7 attempts, the fight finally clicked and I had the nost memorable hunt of my life. I look forward to fighting zinogre in every game he's in now.

One of the reasons why Fatalis is my favourite fight in MHW and one of my favorite creatures in MH is that simplicity In a world where we have world ending threats who can control elements like no other say like Alatreon or Kirin. Then on the other side we have the most insane designs possible, creatures that feel like things that could destroy the world. Xeno'Jiva or something like Zinorge as examples. Fatalis is considered to be the king. A simple dragon with complete mastery of fire. I believe Iceborne LORE states that the closest to Fatalis is Safa
